Slow Cooker Beef and Tomato Stew

EAT: The title is a fib, you KNOW I didn't use beef, that's just what the recipe is called. We used venison - of course. And in typical fashion, anything I make with venison Todd devours and declares it a major success. I liked it, it was good, warm, filling, healthy. So nice to have dinner ready when I got home. Next time I think I'll cut the meat into larger pieces and maybe add a concoction of spices. I took a picture, but it's one of those things that isn't really captured well in a photo. Oh well...

Still along the lines of food, yesterday our staff headed out to On the Border to support a great organization- The Michigan Abolitionist Project. I should've shared this information earlier- WHAT WAS I THINKING?! Next time there is an event (Feb 22 at the Jenison Culvers) I'll be sure to be more proactive. They're raising awareness about human slavery / trafficking right here in Michigan. Human Slavery isn't something that's limited to third world countries. It's right in our backyards!

On the Border was of course delicious. We all ordered off the lunch menu, the food was surprisingly spicy! I loved it. You can't really do Mexican food wrong. I'll even take Tex-Mex, I'm that desperate :)
